
Graham AikinGraham Aikin is a part-time PhD student in the Department of War Studies, King’s College London, where he is researching the resurgence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan since the 2021 withdrawal. He has studied extensively the events of 9/11, its antecedents and the subsequent ‘Global War on Terror’. His Master’s dissertation focused on the UK Investigatory Powers Commissioner’s role in overseeing the UK intelligence agencies’ treatment of detainees and the sharing of intelligence with their liaison partners. He works closely with the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York and volunteers at the annual commemorations.
